How do I add a new pupil?

What you can do here

Create a pupil across several sections: "Account details", "Personal details", "School details", "Teaching Classes" and "Message".

  • Account: "First name(s)" and "Last name" (required), "Username/email" (required), "Password" ("Passwords must match").
  • Personal: "Date of birth", "Gender" (Male/Female/Unknown).
  • School: "Tutor", "Parent", "Group", "Teaching Class".
  • Message: "Show a message to this user", "Message" ("shown to this pupil when they log in"), start date and "Message Expiry Date".
  • Scheduling: "Test date", "Time between tests" ("Select wait time"), "Training period enabled" and "Date the training period will end". Tooltips: the test date is "the date of their first exam or the date that they will finish year 6". The training period "defaults to 1 month from today. Tests will then be allowed to become overdue."
  • "Syllabus & Adaptive Test Settings":
    • Options: "1. Use the advanced AI Adaptive algorithm…", "2. Select your own schedule", "3. Do not use the adaptive tests…", "4. Skip adaptive test page…"
    • "Please note Date of Birth must also be set to use the adaptive tests."
    • "Ability Start Level" per subject (1–3 Star), which only applies "if the pupil has not started any adaptive tests"
    • "Edit Advanced Schedule Settings": per-subject "Enabled", "Start Date" and "Wait Period"
  • GCSE: "Syllabus", "Current Level", "Target Level" (Level 1 / Grade G to Level 9 / Grade A*).
  • "Subject access": "The settings here will control access for only this pupil on Non-Adaptive Tests."
  • "Test Options" (GCSE maths: "Option", "Inherited Value", "Override"):
    • "Add extra test time"
    • "Allow stopping test after initial stage" (Yes/No)
    • "Allow [pupil] to see the clock"
    • "Hide test scores at end of each stage" (Show/Hide)
    • Each can be left at "Inherit"
  • Buttons: "Save", "Save & Add Another", "Save & Activate" and "Cancel".
  • Divert notices: "This is a divert link to our separate 11+ product.", then "CONTINUE TO BOFA11PLUS.COM". "…separate Pretest product.", then "CONTINUE TO PRE-TEST.CO.UK".

How to do it

  1. Fill in "First name(s)", "Last name", "Username/email" and "Password". Add "Date of birth" if you'll use adaptive tests.
  2. Set "Tutor", "Parent", "Group" or "Teaching Class" if relevant.
  3. Set "Test date" and choose an adaptive option (option 1 is recommended).
  4. Adjust "Subject access" / "Test Options" if needed.
  5. Click "Save & Activate" to put them straight onto a subscription, "Save & Add Another" to keep going, or "Save".
